This stag was photographed near Kinlochourn in the North West Highlands. A truely wild, remote area surronded by sea and high hills. A favourite place.
Another Kinlochourn resting stag.
Glenshero in the Monadliaths. Another favourite wild area off the beaten track.
When winter snow is scarce the snow hare is much more conspicuous and easier prey for golden eagles.
An expresion.
During the autumn rut the stags are very active and vociferous.
Hinds in springtime are probably carrying a calf.
Young stags have a difficult time in the autumn rut.
