About Ian
Ian has been observing and photographing the natural environment of upland Britain for many years and is particularly fond of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. He is interested in the many parts that make up the landscape; geology, land-forms, plants, animals and the elements of the weather that give diversity and uniqueness.
Ian produces professional quality limited edition prints, photo cards and images for publications and he tutors on photographic holidays that are based in the Ullapool area. His work has been widely used in commercial web design.
In recent years Ian has had selling exhibitions at:
Darlington College, Catterick
Botanic Garden, University of Durham
Phoenix Gallery, Richmond
Scottish Natural Heritage, Battleby, Perth
Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond
Macdonald's Highland Resort, Aviemore
The Yorkshire Post, Cultural section said tha Ian's pictures are "breathtaking images" and his recent exhibition "captures mesmerising landscapes and wildlife" of the Highlands and Islands.
The images have been photographed over the past few years mainly in the North West of Scotland and Speyside.
Ian also runs individual and small group day courses on how to take better photographs and these are centered on the Swaledale area of North Yorkshire.
